Weekend for Two

March has just begun and it started in such a pretty way, since I had the chance to spend a gorgeous weekend with my lovely man.
Thursday, we drove to the North of Portugal, where we stayed until Saturday. As it takes too many hours to get there, we didn't really enjoy our Thursday, except the landscape and cities along our path, which are always nice to observe.

Friday began quite chilly but it didn't take too long for the Sun to shine upon us and embrace us with a lovely day. We've decided, previously, to go to Spain and visit Ourense (or Orense in Spanish), so our Friday morning was all about getting there.

It was not complicated to find it, and we loved every piece of the city. It's a very relaxing place, filled with life, crowded avenues, lovely monuments. We didn't see every part of Ourense but it caught my attention and I look forward to return there someday! It was a very exhausting day, but we totally enjoyed it.

Saturday was our day to return home, but we didn't plan any hour to arrive because we wanted to visit Porto (or Oporto in English). I've been there before, but only passing through, just like him. So this was the perfect opportunity to visit it!

Porto has an amazing scenario and it's so pleasant to look at. I love the crowded streets, with no cars, only for people to walk around and fall in love with the city. Every corner just made me want to explore more and more. As we went there, we had to eat the typical "Francesinha" which delighted us and filled our bellies, leaving us ready for another wandering.

We were enchanted, of course, but later we had to get in the car and drive home, back to our lovely Alentejo. I loved our weekend and it's been a while since the last time we went on vacations to explore a new place.
